PROPERTIES OF THE PANELS

ALUCO PANEL

ALUCO PANEL polycarbonate panels are exceptionally resistant to impact and weather conditions. They are also resistant to UV radiation. The multi-layered structure and thickness ranging from 30 mm to 60 mm provide excellent insulating properties. Thanks to the proven tongue and groove connection, the polycarbonate panels are easy to install. It is possible to produce panels in any color, which will help give your project a unique character.

  • Excellent thermal insulation
  • Light permeability
  • High load resistance
  • Temperature resistance from -40° to +115°
  • Lightweight and easy to install
  • Available in many colors and variants

PANEL STRUCTURE

Thanks to their low weight and simple construction, polycarbonate panels and necessary accessories can be installed quickly and with minimal effort. The panels are mounted within an aluminum frame system and then connected using a tongue and groove joint. Additional aluminum fasteners ensure the stability of the panels, even in strong winds or under heavy loads.

  • Quick installation
  • Lightweight construction
  • Excellent thermal insulation properties
  • Exceptional weather resistance

EFFECTIVE THERMAL INSULATION

Panels with a thickness of 50 mm and 60 mm provide excellent thermal insulation properties due to the use of an aluminum profile system with an integrated thermal break. These profiles, known as “warm” profiles, effectively minimize heat energy loss, contributing to the increased energy efficiency of the building. The multi-chamber structure of the panels further enhances their insulating properties, reducing heat transfer and maintaining optimal internal temperature. Thanks to these solutions, the panels not only improve thermal comfort in buildings but also help reduce heating and cooling costs.

PANEL FILLING

AEROGEL

Optionally, ALUCO PANEL panels can be filled with aerogel, which is the most effective thermal insulation solution in our offer. Aerogel is a material with exceptionally low thermal conductivity, significantly enhancing the insulating properties of the panels by minimizing energy loss and providing excellent thermal protection even in extreme conditions. Thanks to its ultralight structure, aerogel does not increase the weight of the panels while effectively reducing heat transfer, making it an ideal choice for buildings where maintaining high energy standards is essential. Additionally, aerogel has the ability to diffuse light, allowing for uniform interior lighting.

TILTING WINDOWS

ALUCO PANEL panels also offer the option to install tilting windows, providing additional ventilation and enhancing the functionality of the facade. Tilting windows can be easily integrated with the panel system without affecting their thermal insulation properties or aesthetic. This solution not only improves air circulation in the building but also offers flexibility in adjusting the internal conditions to meet current needs. The installation of tilting windows is quick and simple, while maintaining a consistent and modern facade appearance.

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

The choice of panels typically depends on factors such as wind or snow load, required thermal or acoustic properties, light transmission, and other project-specific conditions. For energy-efficient buildings, we recommend panels with higher thermal insulation values, such as those with 10 or 12 chambers. If your project requires more light penetration, semi-transparent panels may be the ideal choice. Once we have the basic parameters of your project, we will be able to recommend the most suitable polycarbonate panels for your needs. Feel free to contact us!

Light transmission in our products is expressed as a percentage, ranging from 0% to 100%. Depending on the color and product selection, these values can vary. For example, thinner panels with a crystal-clear color allow significantly more light to pass through compared to thicker panels in darker colors. Light-diffusing colors, such as opal shades or semi-matte panels, can also bring a considerable amount of diffused light into the building. The amount of light that passes through will depend on the specific type and finish chosen for your project. Feel free to contact us, and we’ll help you select the best option based on your lighting needs.

Yes, polycarbonate panels can be used as meltable surfaces in fire protection systems. Thanks to their low melting point (below 300°C), these panels melt during a fire, allowing for the rapid venting of hot gases and smoke from the interior of the building. This feature is particularly useful in industrial buildings, where polycarbonate panels can function as a natural smoke ventilation system in accordance with the DIN 18230-1 standard. It helps to reduce the risk of fire spreading and lower the internal temperature of the building.

However, outside of fire protection scenarios, polycarbonate panels are not designed for general melting applications. If your project involves specific heat-related requirements, feel free to contact us for guidance on selecting the right materials.

Yes, polycarbonate panels can be recycled. Polycarbonate is a material that can be reprocessed. Used panels can be collected, cleaned, and transformed into raw material for the production of new polycarbonate products. Recycling these panels helps reduce waste and is environmentally beneficial, supporting sustainable resource management. By choosing polycarbonate panels, you contribute to a circular economy and minimize the environmental impact of construction materials.

Polycarbonate panels are known for their durability and long lifespan. When properly installed and maintained, they can retain their properties, such as thermal insulation, UV resistance, and impact strength, for many years. Typically, polycarbonate panels can maintain their full performance for up to 20-30 years, depending on factors like environmental conditions, exposure to UV rays, and the specific product used.

To ensure the longevity of the panels, regular maintenance such as cleaning and inspection for any potential damage is recommended. Additionally, UV-resistant coatings on some panels help protect them from degradation over time, ensuring that they continue to perform effectively throughout their lifespan.
