The objective of the project was to replace the roof skylights in a sizable industrial facility situated within one of the industrial complexes in Wrocław.

Our company installed ALUCO SKYLIGHT TR THERM roof skylights with thermal insulation. The skylights feature a polygonal shape, which makes them a perfect fit for this facility. Given its historic nature, the requirement for skylights with precisely this shape was met.

The key advantage of this product, however, is its thermal performance. ALUCO SKYLIGHT TR THERM roof skylights are constructed from bridgeless aluminum profiles, making them ideal for enhancing the thermal efficiency of industrial buildings.

Roof skylights for this industrial hall were equipped with ALUCO SKYLIGHT AIR vents designed specifically for polygon skylights. Barrel Vault Roof Skylights

In the project, we utilized our proprietary Aluco Skylight Therm system. These are industrial barrel vault roof skylights with thermal insulation. The barrel vault skylights were installed in rows, comprising a total of 112 continuous skylights (28 rows of 4 continuous skylights each).

Smoke Vents In Skylights

Our skylights also feature additional Aluco Fire SL smoke vents installed across the entire roof of the production hall. These smoke vents are designed specifically for installation in skylights; they can be manually or automatically tilted and controlled. In total, we installed 400 smoke vents within the skylights.

Roof Top Smoke Vents

Our Aluco Delta roof top smoke vents have been installed on the roof bay windows as shown in the photos. Similar to the skylight vents, the Aluco Delta vents can be operated through the automatic control system.

The investor of FIAT CHRYSLER AUTOMOTIVE decided to install high-insulation skylights from our ALUCO SKYLIGHT THERM system, filled with polycarbonate panels containing LUMIRA aerogel.

Prior to commencing the implementation, our products, uniquely among the competition, successfully underwent a series of technical consultations and met the rigorous technical standards set by the investor. ALUCO SYSTEM was the sole company in the industry to be approved as the official supplier of skylight systems for FCA POLAND facilities.

By employing our innovative ALUCO SKYLIGHT THERM system with the LUMIRA aerogel filling, we effortlessly achieved a U < 0.8 W/m²K coefficient for the skylight dome and a weighted average heat transfer coefficient for the entire skylight (inclusive of the bases). This amounted to a U < 0.7 W/m²K.

In addition to the “clean” installation of skylights, our scope of work encompassed the identification and precision cutting of holes in the roof of the existing production hall. We also took measures to safeguard the machinery used for car part production, undertook insulation tasks, and completed the flashing of the skylights.

In alignment with the specified requirements, an innovative array of ALUCO SKYLIGHT THERM bridgeless skylights was integrated into the facility. These skylights are furnished with polycarbonate panels infused with Aerogel, spanning an aggregate area of approximately 500 m2. This system is notable for its exceptional thermal efficiency and structural integrity.

As the investor prioritized optimal daylighting, our skylights were equipped with cutting-edge panels containing LUMIRA AEROGEL. The sunlight passing through this material is uniformly diffused across the entire hall, eliminating any areas of shadow. Additionally, the solar energy, which typically leads to overheating under the skylight, has been diminished to a level imperceptible to the employees within the hall.

Innovative roof skylights without bridges.

In April 2018, we completed the installation of our products at CERRAD facility in Starachowice.

The investor highly values the quality of our products and professional consultancy services; thus, this is the second hall completed for them.

We have installed innovative ALUCO SKYLIGHT THERM roof skylights without bridges characterized by increased thermo-insulating parameters with a total area of 4000 m2.

In connection with the fire requirement, the facility has also been equipped with our natural smoke removal system consisting of, among other things, 190 smoke vents placed in continuous skylights.

The smoke removal control system used is 100% autonomous, additionally equipped with vent position signalling, and has the ability to control aeration.

Given surplus heat from production processes, skylights have been equipped with a natural ventilation function divided into 22 thermally diverse zones. The ventilation is provided by control panels equipped with a synoptic board.

Taking care of the employees’ comfort and considering the necessity of using daylight in production control processes, we equipped our skylights with infill characterized by a very good light dispersion throughout the hall, without the effect of light concentration in one place.

In 2002, we started cooperation with one of the largest producers of ceramic tiles in Poland – CERAMIKA PARADYŻ.

Over the last 10 years, we have signed contracts with this Investor each year for the modernization of existing elements or delivery and installation of new elements lighting the production and warehouse halls of this plant, located in the following cities:

Opoczno Plant:

  • ALUCO SKYLIGHT SL roof skylights with smoke removal systems – approximately 4000 m2,
  • ALUCO PANEL vertical transoms – approximately 1500 m2,
  • ALUCO SKYLIGHT SP roof top skylights – approximately 100 pieces.

Wielka Wola Plant:

  • ALUCO SKYLIGHT SL roof skylights with smoke removal systems – approximately 6000 m2,
  • ALUCO SKYLIGHT SP roof top skylights – approximately 70 pieces.

Plants in Tomaszów Mazowiecki:

  • ALUCO SKYLIGHT SL roof skylights with smoke removal systems – approximately 15000m2,
  • ALUCO PANEL vertical transoms – approximately 2500 m2,
  • ALUCO SKYLIGHT SP roof top skylights – approximately 250 pieces.

What is interesting is the fact that a ventilation system was installed on one of the plants using additional pneumatic cylinders synchronized with weather control units.

This solution was adopted due to the high temperatures reached in the hall during the process of ceramics firing. In 2002-2005, it was a very innovative system  installed for the first time in Poland.

From January 2010 to May 2010, Aluco System delivered and installed the roofing for the eastern stand of the WISŁA Kraków stadium on Reymonta Street in Kraków, as requested by POLIMEX MOSTOSTAL.

As part of the project, ALUCO performed the following works:

  • Delivery and installation of drainage channels made of galvanized steel and the glueing of PVC membranes manufactured by SIKA – quantity: approximately 2300 m.
  • Delivery and installation of arched roofs with an aluminum structure with 20-mm-thick polycarbonate panels – quantity: about 5600 m².

Until now, the roofing created by ALUCO has stood as one of the most architecturally intriguing structures in Europe, featuring the impeccable ALUCO SKYLIGHT system.
